What is Media Server android 4.0 and how do I disable it?

Jonathan What is Media Server android 4.0 and how do I disable it?
When I go into battery usage I always see media server and it has usually used about 2% of my battery. I don’t stream music or other content to other devices so why is media server using my battery.

Thanks in advance

Answer by SSP Bowl Dude
Media server handles the files on your phone. It isn’t a part of streaming files, except for file management. Any time you access a file, media server works.

2% is really small. Assuming your battery is drained to 50%, the app is using 2% of the 50%, not 2% of the battery.
